Job Description
A MIG (Metal Inert Gas) Welder is responsible for using gas metal arc welding techniques to fuse metal components according to specifications. They typically work with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum in manufacturing, construction, or repair settings. MIG Welders interpret technical drawings, prepare materials, and adjust equipment settings for optimal weld quality. They ensure welds meet quality and safety standards through visual inspections and testing. The role demands precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols. Experience with power tools, welding equipment, and blueprint reading is essential.
Responsibilities

Perform MIG welding on various metals as per job specifications

Read and follow blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

Set up, operate, and maintain MIG welding machines and tools

Inspect completed welds for accuracy, strength, and appearance

Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards

Prepare and clean workpieces before and after welding

Work with team members to meet production and project deadlines
Qualification
High School Diploma or ITI Certificate
Skill & Experience

Proficiency in MIG welding techniques for different metal types

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols

Good hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity

Knowledge of welding safety standards and procedures

Experience using grinders, clamps, and measuring tools

Ability to identify welding flaws and perform corrective measures
