Job Description

A TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) Welder is responsible for joining metal parts with high precision using a tungsten electrode and inert gas, typically on stainless steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals. They read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine welding requirements. TIG Welders ensure clean, high-quality welds by preparing materials, setting up equipment, and maintaining proper welding techniques. They inspect finished welds for defects and ensure compliance with safety standards and specifications. Attention to detail, steady hand control, and a good understanding of metallurgy are essential. Experience with various welding positions and knowledge of welding codes is often required.

Responsibilities

Perform TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals as per project specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding diagrams.
Set up and operate TIG welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
Inspect welds for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet industry standards.
Maintain welding equipment and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
Follow safety protocols and adhere to company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines.

Qualification

High School Diploma or ITI Certificate

Skill & Experience

Proficiency in TIG welding techniques on various metals like stainless steel and aluminum.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise welding.
Knowledge of welding safety procedures and industry standards.
Attention to detail and the ability to detect weld imperfections or defects.
Familiarity with welding tools, machines, and maintenance practices.
Basic math and measurement skills to ensure accurate fabrication.
